UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has condemned the terrorist attack on a university in Pakistan’s northwest yesterday. The UN chief is appalled by such acts of violence and calls for the perpetrators to be swiftly brought to justice, his spokesman said in a statement.
The US also strongly condemned the terror attack, saying it will stand “side-by-side” with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. State Department Deputy Spokesman Mark Toner said,it is particularly appalling that these terrorists continue to attack educational institutions, targeting Pakistan’s future generations.
Heavily-armed militants stormed Bacha Khan University in in Pakistan’s restive northwest Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province yesterday, firing indiscriminately on students and teachers.
21 people died in the attack. Four terrorists were also killed in the attack by the security forces.
