Army chief Gen dalbirArmy Chief General Dalbir Singh today assured the nation that army was prepared to respond to any threat to the country. Briefing media persons in New Delhi today, the Army Chief said the security environment facing the nation is becoming more complex and dynamic. Saying that growing threats of cyber attacks are blurring territorial boundaries, he informed that a number of measures have been taken to expedite induction of modern military equipment.

He also said a new Army design bureau is being set up to fast track technological progress. He said he has told all army commanders to do a security audit in order to improve security.

Speaking on Pathankot terror attack, General Singh assured that there was no problem in coordination between the forces. He said it took time to complete the operation in order to ensure less casualties. Replying to a question on NSG deployment in Pathankot, the Army Chief said it was a good decision as NSG is the best force to deal with hostage situation.

“In our efforts to fastrack technological progress, a new Army design bureau is being set up. Large number of measures have been taken to expedite induction of modern military equipment”, the army chief said about modernisation of the army.
