A brain dead businessman in Kerala has given a new lease of life to five needy patients through organs donation. The kidneys, liver and the eyes were harvested at a Coimbatore hospital from 53-year old James hailing from Palakkad and later were transplanted into other patients. James died of a road accident on Saturday during treatment at the Kovai Medical Center in Coimbatore.

In another case, a 16-year-old girl from Mumbai got a new lease of life yesterday after the heart of a brain dead woman was successfully transported from a hospital in Indore to a Mumbai Hospital within just two hours. This was possible because of the green corridors created for connecting both hospitals with respective city airports.
