Bihar Government has banned using of sirens and hooters in VIP vehicles throughout the state. Only vehicles of the Governor, Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Fire tenders and ambulance would be allowed to use siren. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken this decision in view of increasing sound pollution.
Mr. Kumar directed officials to put an end to misuse of sirens by politicians and bureaucrats flaunting it as a status symbol. He directed officials that punitive action will be taken against private individuals using siren in their vehicles.
