Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray on Friday threatened to pull out of the BJP led government in Maharashtra if Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis fails to suggest adept policy measures to bring down spiralling dal prices.
Addressing an election rally in Kalyan in view of the upcoming municipal polls, Mr. Thackeray ordered his ministers to get a reply from Mr. Fadnavis in this regard before the next cabinet meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
Rejecting the resignation letter offered by state PWD Minister Eknath Shinde, the Shiv Sena Chief said he will withdraw support and seek resignation of all Sena ministers if the government fails to address basic issues of people.
Mr. Shinde had submitted his resignation to Uddhav Thackeray before the start of Kalyan rally saying he was hurt by the insensitive behaviour of BJP towards Shiv Sena workers.
Mr. Ekanth Shinde also offered to resign as Thane’s guardian minister; the district which consists the twin towns of Kalyan and Dombivali.
Mr. Thackeray alleged that BJP was using government machinery to harass Sena workers and to register electoral gains.
Exuding confidence that Shiv Sena will win the Kalyan Dombivali civic polls that are to be held on Sunday, the Shiv Sena Chief promised that his ward officers will work day and night to ensure that Kalyan
Dombivali is converted into a smart city in real sense.
