Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has blamed Uttar Pradesh government for Dadri lynching incident in which a man was killed by a group of persons over rumours of beef consumption.
During his visit to Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, Mr Parrikar said Dadri incident happened due to lax response of the state government and a failure of its intelligence department. The Defence Minister said the state government should be held responsible for such incidents, not the Centre. It is the responsibility of the state to provide law and order and prevent such mishap, he said.
