Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju has said that the lynching of a man over alleged eating of beef in Dadri was being excessively politicised and the Government will take action once it gets the report from Uttar Pradesh on the incident.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Rijiju said excessive politics is being done on the issue. The Centre had on Thursday sought a detailed report from the state government over the incident and asked it to ensure that no such incident recurs.

Meanwhile, two youngsters, alleged to be main accused in the case were arrested yesterday. The situation is reported to be tense but under control in the village. Uttar Pradesh Government has raised the ex-gratia given to victim’s family to 20 lakh rupees, an official spokesman said in Lucknow.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav decided to hike the amount of financial assistance being extended to the kin of the victim from 10 lakh to 20 lakh rupees. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident
