Suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has given an application to Lucknow police for registering an FIR against Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and moved the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) challenging appointment of inquiry officer against him. In an application to SSP Lucknow, Thakur said, he had handed over the complaint to Inspector of Hazratganj police station who initially refused to receive the complaint and has still not registered the FIR. He said that Mulayam Singh Yadav’s statements come in the ambit of criminal intimidation, which is a cognizable offence and that is why he has sought an FIR. He said, even if the SSP did not register the FIR, he would move to the court.
UP government had suspended Thakur on the 13th of this month and appointed the enquiry Officer the next day to complete the enquiry within minimum time, asking him to assist in the enquiry in fullest measure.
