Israeli Prime Minister’s spokesperson David Mencer has said that Flydubai hijack attempt seemed similar to 9/11 terror attacks in the United States. Talking to a news agency, he said, the Omani pilot after attacking brave Indian pilot Smit Machchhar in yesterday’s Flydubai flight was found standing over the cockpit controls trying to destroy the aircraft’s systems. Mencer said, the attempt to bring down the flight seemed similar to the September 11 attacks.
He said, the Omani pilot is being questioned by the Saudi authorities and he will be transferred to the UAE. He added that Israel and the UAE have instituted a six-day freeze on flights between the two countries to investigate the incident and ensure there are no follow-up attacks. Mencer mentioned that the Israeli passengers and crew, together with the Indian pilot wrestled control of the plane back from the Omani pilot and brought the incident to a safe conclusion.
