India on Wednesday strongly condemned the attack on Kuwait International Airport that killed one Indian national and injured several others, renewing its appeal for the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure amid escalating tensions in West Asia.
In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and said Indian authorities were extending all possible assistance to those affected.
“We condemn the attack on Kuwait International Airport today in which an Indian national has died and several of our nationals are injured. Since the onset of the conflict in West Asia, we have strongly urged that civilian population and civilian infrastructure must not be targeted. We again call upon parties to cease such attacks,” the MEA said.
The ministry stated that the Indian Embassy in Kuwait remains in close coordination with local authorities and is actively assisting those injured in the incident.
“We offer our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Our Embassy is extending all possible assistance to those injured. We remain in close contact with local authorities for the welfare of Indian nationals,” the statement added.
The MEA also said Indian diplomatic missions across the region remain on alert and continue proactive support for Indian communities.
Separately, the Embassy of India in Kuwait confirmed the death and said it was closely monitoring developments while coordinating support for affected families.
According to Kuwaiti authorities, the attack caused damage to Terminal 1 of Kuwait International Airport and resulted in civilian casualties. Kuwait’s military said it remains on full alert as regional tensions continue to rise.
