Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today said that India-Japan cooperation in science and technology is one of the strong pillars of country’s global engagements. Virtually addressing the grand finale of the India-Japan Year of Science and Technology and Innovation Exchange, the Minister highlighted Indo-Japan’s 40 years of bilateral partnership and growing collaboration across sectors.
Mr Singh highlighted that recent initiatives, including agreements signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Japan last year, aimed to expand ties in research, startups, and industry. He also underlined progress in key areas such as healthcare collaboration and the joint ISRO-JAXA lunar mission (LUPEX).
Dr. Singh also said that Japan’s technology and country’s talent can enhance each other in cutting-edge research. Calling Japan a trusted partner, he called for deeper cooperation in frontier technologies and global challenges, including sustainable development.
