In Saudi Arabia, air defenses shot down dozens of drones

Two people were killed and three injured when debris from an intercepted missile fell on a road in Abu Dhabi on Thursday., according to Arab News.
The two killed were Pakistani and Indian and the other injured were Emirati, Jordanian and Indian, Abu Dhabi Media Office said. Their injuries ranged from “serious to moderate.”
The ballistic missile was shot down by UAE air defenses with the shrapnel falling on Sweihan Street, the statement said. A number of cars were damaged.
The UAE, along with other Arab Gulf countries, has been attacked daily by Iranian missiles and drones since the war between Iran, the US and Israel started on February 28.
Attacks have targeted the main airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, energy infrastructure and prominent landmarks.
In Saudi Arabia, air defenses shot down dozens of drones on Thursday over the Kingdom’s Eastern Region.
The UAE’s defense ministry said air defences engaged 15 ballistic missiles and 11 drones on Thursday. The ministry issued a number of warnings throughout the day that it was responding to the attacks.
The country’s air defenses have responded to nearly 400 missiles and more than 1,800 drones since the conflict began.
The deaths on Wednesday bring the number of people killed in the UAE by Iranian attacks to eight, with 169 wounded. A contractor for the country’s military was also killed in Bahrain by an Iranian attack and two members of the UAE’s armed forces died in a helicopter crash.
According to WAM, Since the start of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted 372 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,826 UAVs.
The attacks resulted in the death of two members of the armed forces while performing their national duty, in addition to the martyrdom of a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces, as well as eight fatalities of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationalities.
A total of 169 people were also injured, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate and severe. The injured included nationals of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Türkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden and Tunisia.
