The Qatar Ministry of Defense announced Monday that the State of Qatar came under two drone attacks launched from Iran, with the first drone targeting one of the water tanks owned by Mesaieed Power Plant, while the other targeted a power plant in the Ras Laffan Industrial City, confirming that no human casualties were recorded.
In a statement, the Ministry reaffirmed that authoritative agencies would conduct a comprehensive damage assessment and issue official statements shortly thereafter.
It called on the public to remain calm, adhere to the instructions issued by the security authorities, not to be swayed by rumors, and to rely on data and information issued by official sources.
The authoritative teams from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) conducted field tours to several food and water production factories to have a closer look at the progress of production and ensure full capacity operation, operation lines readiness, as well as supply chain efficiency to ultimately meet the needs of the domestic market in a regular manner.In a statement, MOCI asserted that the factories are operating with high capacity, as the strategic stockpile of products is abundant to ensure the constant supply of commercial outlets and smooth sale of commodities to consumers.The on-site monitoring has demonstrated the regular operations of supply and transportation to various sale points, with supply chains ongoing normally and regularly, underscoring that the sector is ready and capable of persistently meeting market needs, the statement continued.The ministry pointed out that it would continue to conduct surveillance tours in combined coordination with factories and suppliers to ensure market stability and foster consumer confidence. It asserted that all items and food commodities are amply available in markets.
Qatar Amir receives phone call from Russian President
The Qatar Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received Monday a phone call from the President of the friendly Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.At the beginning of the call, the Russian President expressed his country’s solidarity with the State of Qatar in the aftermath of the Iranian aggression, emphasizing that Russia is ready to provide any kind of support that helps overcome the fallout of these assaults and strengthen Qatar’s security and stability.
For his part, Amir expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Russian President for his genuine sentiments, as well as the solidarity and support he showed, valuing the bilateral friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
During the call, they discussed the developments in the region, with both sides underscoring the importance of pursuing dialogue and negotiations as the overriding priority and ramping up diplomatic efforts to help de-escalate the tensions and safeguard regional security and stability.
In addition, the two sides addressed the strategic relationships between the two friendly countries and ways to support and strengthen them across fields.
