JK Cement Ltd. on Saturday inaugurated its state-of-the-art grey cement grinding unit in Buxar, marking a significant expansion of its manufacturing footprint in eastern India. The facility was formally launched by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary under the guidance of Nitish Kumar, in the presence of Dilip Kumar Jaiswal and Dr. Nidhipati Singhania, Vice Chairman of the company.

Spread across 100 acres along the Patna–Buxar highway, the new unit has an annual production capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). Built with an investment of approximately ₹500 crore, construction of the project began in March 2025. The plant is expected to significantly improve cement availability across Bihar and neighbouring markets, supporting infrastructure, housing, and commercial development projects.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the project represents a key milestone in Bihar’s industrial growth. He noted that such investments generate employment opportunities for local communities and strengthen the state’s infrastructure ecosystem. He congratulated JK Cement for its commitment to contributing to Bihar’s development journey.

Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director of JK Cement, described the Buxar unit as a strategic step towards reinforcing the company’s long-term presence in the state. He said localized manufacturing would enable faster deliveries, improved service responsiveness, and closer engagement with customers.

Echoing similar sentiments, Mr. Madhavkrishna Singhania, Joint Managing Director and CEO, highlighted Bihar’s strong infrastructure momentum and termed the new plant a long-term investment in sustainable growth.

With an overall grey cement capacity of 31.26 MTPA and white cement capacity of 3.05 MTPA, JK Cement operates across 15 Indian states and exports to 36 countries, continuing to diversify into paints, construction chemicals, and ready-mix concrete segments.
