Comptroller and Auditor General Girish Chandra Murmu inaugurated a dedicated sports complex at Ranchi today to promote sports in the CAG Institution and in country. The sports complex has been constructed for CAG’s cricket, football and hockey teams. The CAG Institution has a pool of sportspersons. The need was felt for CAG Institution to have its own sports ground for regular practice and camps to CAG’s Football, Hockey and cricket teams. The dedicated centralized sports facility in Ranchi will work as a hub for all the outdoor sports disciplines of Indian Audit and Accounts department where local players can also practice. Ranchi is strong in tribal hockey talent and developing a sports center, especially in the hockey discipline, will also help the department to exploit the local talent.
