Israel dropped leaflets over a Lebanon border village on Sunday urging residents to leave. It was the first time Israelis had instructed south Lebanon citizens to evacuate during the 11-month cross-border conflict between Hezbollah and Israel over the Gaza war.

According to the official National News Agency, the Israel dropped leaflets over Wazzani, urging residents to leave the area. Wazzani is an agricultural area where Syrians are frequently employed to cultivate the land.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said the leaflets had been dropped by drone in an area from which rockets had been fired into northern Israel.
