BJP today approached the Election Commission over alleged dissemination of misinformation by Congress and other opposition parties. A delegation of the party comprising of Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Sudhanshu Trivedi and Om Pathak today met the Poll Body over the issue. Later speaking to media, Mr Trivedi said, the party has presented 15 examples of such incidents, which are not ordinary but systematically propagated by the Congress party. They demanded action from the Commission, terming the continuous statements made by the leaders of Congress and its allies as a hindrance in fair and smooth elections.

BJP Urges Election Commission To Act Against Telangana Assembly Speaker For Violating Model Code Of Conduct

In Telangana, the BJP today urged the Election Commission of India to take action against State Assembly speaker G Prasad Kumar for violating the Model Code of Conduct by participating in election campaigns. BJP state General Secretary G Premender Reddy has given a complaint to this effect to Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj. The party alleged that the Speaker has been campaigning for the Congress, despite earlier complaints.

The BJP leaders also urged the ECI to instruct the police to take action against those who destroy the BJP hoardings, and instruct officials to remove unauthorised banners.
