US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have condemned the killing of seven humanitarian aid workers in Gaza by the Israel’s assault. The US president said, he was outraged and heartbroken and accused Israel of not doing enough to protect aid workers. Israel has promised an independent investigation after the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Poland lost nationals in yesterday’s attack. Three of the killed aid workers were British nationals, one each from Poland, Australian and Palestinian and a US-Canadian citizen. Acknowledging that Israel’s forces had hit innocent people, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged an independent investigation. Israeli President Isaac Herzog has apologized for the deaths.
Mr Biden called for Israel’s investigation to be conducted swiftly, and said it must bring accountability and its findings be made public. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday and demanded a thorough and transparent independent investigation into the killing of the aid workers. Mr. Sunak added that Israel needed to end restrictions on humanitarian aid and protect civilians. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorsk have also condemned the killing of aid workers.
