Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu Monday announces ₹1,500 per month to women in age group of 18 to 60 years.

The scheme will be known as Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana. About 8 lakh women of the state will get the benefit of this scheme.

Rs 800 crore per year will be spent on this scheme. CM said that women above 60 years of age are already being given pension, which has been increased from Rs 1150 to Rs 1500 under this scheme. Chief Minister Sukhvindra Sukhu, while addressing the journalists in Shimla, said that the Congress government was formed a year ago. There was a bad financial situation, govt controlled it. In a state which has a debt of Rs 75 thousand crore, the employees had liabilities of Rs 10 thousand crore. But after our meaningful policies and programs we faced it.

The first guarantee old pension scheme was implemented in the very first cabinet meeting. The second Rs 650 crore guarantee Rajiv Gandhi Startup Scheme was launched in three phases. The third was to open an English medium school, it is being completed from this session. There was a provision for teaching through English medium from the first class itself.
