PATNA: Keeping jubilation to his heart Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday calmly gave all credit to the people of Bihar for his combine spectacular victory in the assembly elections.
 
Talking to media persons here he said that the sweeping victory of his alliance was a vote for Bihar’s continued development.

"This is a victory for the people of Bihar," Nitish Kumar said after the JD-U- BJP landslide victory.

"The people of Bihar want development… we want development. Development has won in Bihar," Nitish said

He promised to work harder for making a progressive Bihar. “We want to take Bihar out of caste politics. Bihar will be known for it development in future”, he said.

Meanwhile in an interview to a TV channel Nitish said that he did not think of becoming Prime Minister and maintained that the landslide victory in assembly elections shows the mandate is that he should stay in Bihar.

"I am an ordinary person. I belong to a poor state. A very ordinary political activist I am. So, I don’t aspire for those big things. I only aspire for one thing–that Bihar should grow, should develop. That’s all," he said ‘Main PM banne ki kalpna bhi nahin kerta’ he stressed

He said his victory today meant the people wanted him to serve Bihar.

"I confine myself to limits of Bihar. That is also the mandate of the people of Bihar," he said.

Nitish Kumar-led JD(U)-BJP alliance in the state stormed back to power in Bihar with a huge victory in the assembly polls. The coalition managed to win more than 206 seats in the 243-member state legislature.

Meanwhile state BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has asked RJD supremo Lalu Prasad to shed his arrogance after the defeat in the polls. Prasad should remain shut up for at least one year and allow the NDA government to work, the Deputy Chief Minister said.

Modi, however, said Prasad still remained a relevant factor in Bihar politics irrespective of the electoral verdict.

He said the state government would seek cooperation of the opposition parties for formulation of policies.
