NEW DELHI: The Congress has refused to comment on the offer made by the AIADMK leader Ms. Jayalalitha for extending support to the UPA. Replying to questions on the offer, the Party General Secretary, Mr.Janardhan Diwedi said at the moment it is very clear that the DMK is their important alliance partner and it has nothing to comment on it. Mr. Diwedi said that the issue of 2G spectrum is pending before the Supreme Court and the CAG report on the issue has not so far been placed in Parliament.
Earlier, Ms. Jayalalitha said that her offer is based on the alleged Congress fear that the coalition with the DMK may collapse if action is taken against A. Raja. She said that the support of nine MPs of her party and other members of friendly parties can make up for the loss of 18 Members of the DMK.
