RANCHI: (AMN) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday filed a charge sheet against former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Madhu Koda and two of his associates under Section 120B IPC r/w Sec.9 & 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
The Charge sheet was filed in the Court of Special Judge, CBI here.   

According to CBI sources, the investigations have revealed that the accused had shown favour to a company by obtaining illegal gratification to the tune of Rs. 13 crores for recommending the company for allotment of land for mining of Iron Ore.
 

Earlier, the Vigilance Department of Jharkhand had registered a case several cases under various section of Indian panel code against former Chief Minister and three former Ministers, of Jharkhand.  The CBI took up the investigation of the case on the directions of Jharkhand High Court and re-registered the case on August 11, 2010.

The former Chief Minister Madhu Koda and his one associate are presently in judicial custody and his other associate is absconding.   Investigation on other aspects of the FIR is continuing.
