On June 9, the Minister for Health, Medical, and Family Welfare, Mrs. Vidadala Rajini, launched the initiative at an Aarogyasri network hospital in Guntur, explaining that the government will spend Rs 7 crore to administer the service.

She added that the defects in the baby’s genetics, organs, and growth could be diagnosed in advance with the help of a TIFFA scan. She pointed out that each TIFFA scan costs more than Rs 3,000, and approximately 64,000 women are prescribed TIFFA scans annually.

Unlike the previous government, the minister added that the ruling YSRC had included deliveries under Aarogyasri. As many as 2.32 lakh babies were delivered for free under the healthcare program in 2022–23.

She stated that Rs 500 crore had been earmarked under Nadu-Nedu for constructing the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Guntur. Additionally, the government strives to establish a critical care unit (CCU) in this Hospital.
