The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has for the past few days been witnessing an uptick in COVID-19 cases.

97 fresh cases were reported yesterday, taking the overall number of active cases to 471. Of these cases, 48 cases were reported from Kashmir division and 49 from Jammu division.

Meanwhile, 52 COVID-infected persons recovered during the last 24 hours, seven from Jammu and 45 from Kashmir.

Amid surge in COVID-19 cases, hospitals across J&K conducted mock drills to assess the preparedness of healthcare facilities.

The main aim of the mock drill was to assess the preparedness of healthcare facilities, test equipment, oxygen concentrators, check bed capacity, manpower and other facilities.
