In the Maldives, several people were killed in a fire in the capital, Male today. The High Commission of India in the Maldives said, it was deeply saddened by the incident.

In a tweet, it said the blaze has caused loss of lives, including reportedly of Indian nationals.

According to initial reports, the fire originated from a vehicle repair garage on the ground floor of a building. A fire department official said that it took four hours to put out the blaze.

More than 700 delegates from across the country have registered for the conference. There shall be three pre-conference workshops on different subjects for post-graduate students and technicians today.

The inaugural ceremony will be followed by scientific sessions. Online Yoga and meditation classes will be organised for all delegates from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM tomorrow and the following day.
