Ladakh Lt Governor Ladakh RK Mathur will inaugurate 2nd LG Cup Horse Polo Tournament at International Horse Polo Stadium in Drass this morning. Teams from both Ladakh as well as J&K UT are expected to participate in the tournament.
This tournament is an initiative to support the revival of Horse Polo in Ladakh which will help in turning Drass into a hub of sporting activities. The Tournament is also becoming an annual event to attract tourists and Polo lovers from all over the world to Ladakh which will help in boosting Tourism Activities. Drass has more than 1000 Horses which was revived by the Polo Promotion Committee Drass after the famous Kargil War in 1999 which has affected a lot on the population of Livestock also.
