The stage has been set for the single-phase urban local body polls tomorrow in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Police have identified more than 31 thousand critical and vulnerable polling stations in the State. Security has been tightened at all the booths ahead of the local body elections tomorrow. More than 450 temporary check posts have been set up across the State to prevent the transportation of illicit liquor and unnecessary movements of outsiders with an intention to create trouble.
Police have identified more than 1300 vantage locations and positioned at least 846 quick response teams. Polls will be held in 21 Corporations, 138 municipalities, and 490 town panchayats. A total of 57 thousand 778 candidates are in the fray for the 12 thousand 607 posts across the state.
