An Australian newspaper, The Klaxon has claimed that China’s losses in the 2020 Galwan Valley border clash with India were much higher than reported. According to the newspaper’s report, the confrontation between the two nations witnessed many Chinese soldiers drowning while crossing a fast-flowing, sub-zero river in darkness.

Following the hand-to-hand combat, China has repeatedly refused to disclose its total casualties. However, in February last year, China officially acknowledged that five Chinese officers and soldiers were killed in the clashes, the paper also claimed.
