The number of COVID-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh climbed up to 88 thousand 247 after recording more than 2 thousand 281 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours.
With 34 patients succumbing to the infection, the death toll rose to 1 thousand 762.
As per the state health bulletin, 16 hundred coronavirus patients were discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours taking the number of recovered cases in the state to around 66 thousand. There are now 20 thousand 487 active cases in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that it is necessary to make a long-term strategy to control the situation of Corona without stopping social and economic activities. He directed the Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains to form a sub-group for this purpose.
Shri Chouhan said that a roadmap should be developed after consulting with religious leaders, social, political, business and voluntary organizations.
The government has also instructed to develop a strategy for corona management, including private and government hospitals, medical colleges and subject experts.
