Unidentified Gunmen fired at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, though he escaped unhurt, but two other injured, police said.

The actor is safe and has not suffered any gunshot injury, while his driver has been admitted to Nanavati Hospital. Police have cordoned off the area and formed 15 teams to track down the attackers. Overseas-based gangsters Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu claimed responsibility for the firing in a social media post in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi group, though the claim has not been independently verified.

The incident took place near Pushpa Park under Juhu police station limits in the western suburb, and the chain of events leading to the incident is being pieced together, an official said.

“Shroff is safe and has not sustained any injuries in the firing incident,” the official reiterated.

As per preliminary reports, an unidentified individual fired upon the actor and his friend.

A viral video showed an unidentified person opening fire on the actor’s car.

A massive manhunt has been launched to nab those involved, with specialised teams checking CCTV footage of the area for leads, the official added.

The Opposition criticised the Maharashtra government over the firing incident, alleging that law and order in the city and state had deteriorated.

In a post on X, Congress leader Sachin Sawant said Mumbai appeared to be in the grip of chaos and accused Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also heads the Home Department, of failing to maintain law and order.

Referring to the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s residence and threats to actors and film producers, Sawant questioned the state government’s efforts to rein in anti-social elements.

He said the situation had reached a point where people who had earlier compared Maharashtra with Bihar were now saying that even Bihar was better.

Deputy CM Eknath Shinde visits actor Tiger Shroff’s residence. Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after gunmen fired at his car in Mumbai, injuring two people. One person has been detained as police investigate a claim linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi group.

Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi on Sunday criticised the Maharashtra government over the firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai, calling it a “chilling collapse of law and order”. In a post on X, Singhvi described the incident as a “damning indictment” of the state’s security apparatus and questioned Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over accountability, asking who was afraid of the law when gangsters could open fire with such audacity.
