Rahul Gandhi reportedly accuses Sibal, Azad and section of party for going public against the Party leadership

Amidst growing uproar over the leadership issue with the Congress, Sonia Gandhi today reiterated her unwillingness to continue as the Congress interim President.
At the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting today, Sonia Gandhi told party leaders to begin the process of transition and relieve her from the current position of heading the Congress Party.
At the CWC meeting, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, is reported to have accused a section of the party for going public against the Party leadership. He went on attack a section of the Party and that their letter seeking leadership changes was written conniving with the BJP.
Sonia Gandhi, at the start of the online Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, asked the party to begin deliberations to set in place a process to find her replacement as Congress president, a post she took on an interim basis after her son Rahul Gandhi quit over the party’ national election defeat.
This led to sharp denial from former ministers Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad. Azad said he would resign if this is proved.
Kapil Sibal vehemently opposed Rahul Gandhi’s allegations and pointed out that he had never made a statement in favour of BJP in his political career and 30 years with the Congress party.
Infact, Sibal questioned Rahul Gandhi’s decision to criticise the letter written by leaders to Sonia Gandhi.
Reacting to this development, Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti said the tussle within the Congress party over the leadership issue establishes the fact that the Gandhi-Nehru family has lost its relevance. She hoped that the Congress would now return to the original swadeshi Gandhi and give up the videshi Gandhi.
The Congress party is divided on the leadership issue, where section within the party is demanding collective leadership while others reposing faith in the Gandhi family.
At least 23 Congress party leaders including Senior Congress leaders Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad had written to Sonia Gandhi demanding a full-time, active President and overhauling Congress party’s organisational structure besides holding elections to the CWC in addition to reconstituting Parliamentary Board.
