The government today informed that the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has increased the examination fee of class 10th and 12th board examination next year, on no profit no loss principle.

In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, the fee has been hiked from 750 rupees to 1500 rupees for all categories of students including SC/ST candidates for all schools across India except for schools of Delhi Government.

He informed that for 1299 schools of Delhi government, examination fee for all categories of Class 10th students has been increased from 375 rupees to 1200 rupees and for class 12th students from 600 rupees to 1200 rupees.

The Minister said, CBSE is a self-financed and self-reliant board and it generates its own resources. He added that CBSE does not take any funds from the consolidated fund of India or any other authority for its expenses.
