The Election Commission has appealed to media to play an active role during assembly elections in the state.
Addressing an orientation workshop for Part Time Correspondents of Prasar Bharati in Ranchi, Chief Electoral Officer Vinay Kumar Choubey said media should maintain transparency and balanced reporting during the ongoing election coverage. He said the role of media is crucial, and stressed on ethical voting.
The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will go to polls in five phases between 30th November and 20th December. Counting of votes will be take placed on 23rd December.
