Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today rejected the Congress allegation that the BJP was behind the conspiracy in Karnataka political crisis.

Making a statement in the Lok Sabha, Mr Singh said, the BJP was nothing to do with the political development taking place in the JDS-Congress coalition government.

He claimed, it is the history of the BJP that it never involves in any kind of horse-trading. The Minister said BJP is fully committed to adhere to the democratic norms.

Mr Singh also took a dig at Congress comparing Rahul Gandhi’s resignation from the Party’s President post to the Karnataka MLAs resignation. He said the process of resignation has been started by Mr Gandhi which has been followed by other Congress leaders as well as MLAs.

Earlier, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary of Congress raised the issue and accused the BJP of hatching a conspiracy to destabilize the Karnataka government. He accused BJP of trying to poach Congress and JDS MLAs by facilitating them move to other places.

Mr Chowdhary hit out at the Central government, alleging that the government is crushing democracy in the state.

After Rajnath Singh’s reply over the issue, the House witnessed noisy scenes, with Congress members shouting slogans.
