Junior doctors in government-run hospitals have resumed their duties following the withdrawal of weeklong strike last evening. The representatives of Junior doctors met the State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the State Secretariat yesterday and discussed their demands.

 

The State administration accepted most of the demands of junior doctors including the one about their safety and security.

 

State Governor Keshari Nath Tripathy welcomed the step taken by the junior doctor to resume duties. He also expressed satisfaction over the Chief Minister’s action to resolve the impasse.

 

Junior doctors started to cease of work protesting assaults of their two colleagues at NRS Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata from 11th of this month.
