Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today visited Muzaffarpur and reviewed the situation due to the outbreak of encephalitis.
Along with Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Mr Kumar visited different wards, paediatrics ICU at Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur where Encephalitis affected children are undergoing treatment.
The Chief Minister directed doctors and health officials to take all necessary steps for better treatment.
Mr Kumar also held a review meeting with the secretary of the state health department, superintendent of the hospital, chief medical Officer of the district and other senior experts.
The death toll has reached 132 in the state due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES). 107 children died in two hospitals in Muzaffarpur alone. 12 districts are affected by AES.
