Sonia Gandhi has been elected as the leader of Congress Parliamentary Party at the meeting of newly-elected Congress Lok Sabha MPs here today. The MPs will also chalk out the party strategy for the upcoming session of Parliament.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi thanked the voters and Congress workers. He said, every Congress member must remember that each one of them is fighting for the Constitution.
This is the first official meeting that Mr Gandhi is attending after the meeting of the party’s working committee held on the 25th of last month, where he offered to quit as Congress chief. The Congress Working Committee has already rejected his offer to resign and unanimously passed a resolution authorizing him to bring structural changes in the party at all levels in a bid to revamp it.
