At least three persons were killed and 15 others, including five soldiers, injured as members from the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), led by two MPs, allegedly attacked an army check post in country’s restive North Waziristan region today.

MPs Ali Wazir and Mohsin Javed attacked the Kharqamar check post in North Waziristan tribal district. Pakistani military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, said in a statement that due to firing of the group, five army soldiers got injured.

In exchange of fire, three individuals who attacked the post lost their lives and 10 others were injured.The army said that they wanted to exert pressure for release of suspected terrorists’ facilitator who was recently arrested.

The Pakistan army’s media wing said that a group led by MNA Mohsin Javed and MNA Ali Wazir assaulted Kharqamar check post at the North Waziristan tribal district.

The ISPR said that due to the firing of the group as many as five soldiers also got injured.

“They wanted to exert pressure for the release of suspected terrorists’ facilitator arrested the other day. Troops at the check post exercised maximum restraint in the face of provocation and direct firing on the post,” said the Pakistan Army’s media wing.
