BJP President Amit Shah has condoled the killing of party leader Ghulam Mohammed Mir from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir. In a tweet, Mr Shah said, his contribution in strengthening the BJP in the Valley was immense. He said, extremist forces in Kashmir cannot demoralise its workers with violence.

Security sources said that unidentified gunmen shot and injured BJP leader Ghulam Mohammad Mir at Nowgam Verinag area in Anantnag district. Sixty years old Ghulam Mohammad was working as district president of BJP in Anantnag district. He succumbed to grievous injuries at hospital. No terrorist outfit claimed responsibility for the attack.

 

J&K Guv condemns killing of BJP leader Ghulam Mohammed Mir

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik has condemned the killing of BJP leader Ghulam Mohammed Mir by terrorists. He directed the security grid to ensure early arrest of those responsible for the killing.

The Governor also directed the Chief Secretary to conduct inquiry into the killings of political leaders belonging to various political parties in the state during the past few months.

In a directive, Mr Malik asked for identifying any lapses on the part of security agencies regarding ensuring security of political leaders. He ordered that from now onwards, all political leaders should be protected at every cost.
