Even as electioneering gained further momentum for Lok Sabha elections,Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress. Mr Modi said, the party labeled peace-loving Hindu community as terrorists. He said the party insulted millions of Hindus by coining the term Hindu terror. He said the Mahamilavat of Congress and NCP has been insulting country’s brave soldiers and their sacrifices by asking for for evidence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the poll campaign of BJP Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra with a rally at Wardha today. He began his address by congratulating ISRO scientists for the successful historic launch of EMISAT.

Attacking Congress and NCP, the Prime Minister said their alliance in Maharashtra is like Kumbhkaran, when they are in power, they sleep for 6 months in rotation. Mr Modi said the Congress-NCP alliance looted farmers in the state in the name of irrigation projects. He said the drought in Vidarbha is because of Congress. Mr Modi said work on irrigation project at lower Wardha is being completed with great speed.

Mr Modi said the Congress was scared of fielding candidates in the seats dominated by majority population.

Hitting out at the Congress over the ‘chowkidar of toilets’ remark, Modi said, their abuse is an ornament for him.

The Prime Minister also targeted NCP chief Sharad Pawar, saying there was infighting in his party, which was slipping from his control.
Later today, the Prime Minister will hold rallies at Andhra Pradesh’s Rajahmundry and Hyderabad in Telangana.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi today addressed a public meeting at Zaheerabad in Telangana. He said his party’s fight with the BJP is ideological. He said Congress stands for a united India. Mr Gandhi promised that Congress will work for overall development of the country if voted to power.

The Congress President is scheduled to hold rallies at Wanaparthy and Huzurnagar in the state today.

Meanwhile, BJP today announced names of three candidates for Parliamentary elections and eleven candidates for State Legislative Assembly in Odisha. AIR correspondent reports that noted Odia cine actor Aparajita Mohanty is contesting from Bhubaneswar North assembly segment.

Bahujan Samaj Party announced a list of candidates for six Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. Electioneering has intensified with several candidates including Samajwadi Party Patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav filing their nominations today. SP stalwart Mulayam Singh Yadav today filed his nomination from Mainpuri Constituency. Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and other family members including bother Ram gopal Yadav and nephew Tez Pratap Yadav were there along with him on this occasion. Arrived in a Kranti Rath from Saifai Mulayam Singh reached Mainpuri collectrate where party workers in large numbers were present to welcome him. SP-BSP-RLD alliance candidate from Sambhal constituency Shafikurrehman bark and Ruchi Veera from Aonla constituency will also file their nominations this afternoon.

Meanwhile Senior BJP leader and Chief Minister of State Yogi Adityanath is addressing a rally at Bisahda in Gautam Buddh Nagar today. Later he will meet teachers and intellectuals in Gorakhpur district. Bahujan Samajwadi Party has announced name of Amar Chand Jauhar from Shahajahanpur, Neelu Satyarthi from Mishrikh and Pankaj Singh from Jalaun. All three are reserved seats. Three other candidates are Manoj Agrawal from Farrukhabad, Nisha Sachan from Akbarpur and Dileep Kumar Singh from Hamirpur.
In Goa, State Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar filed his nomination for the North Goa Lok Sabha constituency this afternoon.
