US President Donald Trump has said, negotiations are proceeding well with the Taliban to end the over 17-year old war in Afghanistan. Mr Trump’s comments come after US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad held fourth round of talks with the Taliban in Qatar last week.
In a series of tweets, the US President said, fighting continues but the people of Afghanistan want peace in this never-ending war.
Mr Khalilzad held six days of intense negotiations with the Taliban representatives in Doha. After the talks, he said, the US and the Taliban have drafted the framework of a deal which could pave the way for peace talks with Kabul.
….Fighting continues but the people of Afghanistan want peace in this never ending war. We will soon see if talks will be successful? North Korea relationship is best it has ever been with U.S. No testing, getting remains, hostages returned. Decent chance of Denuclearization…
