China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying has declined to comment on the US midterm elections, which she described as a domestic matter.
Hua told a news conference on Wednesday that China continues to attach importance to relations with the US and that the people, government and leaders of both countries are hoping for a healthy and stable development of bilateral ties.
Regarding trade friction with the US, Hua expressed hope that the 2 sides can move forward on the issues of economy and trade and agree on a plan that both can accept.
