India and Tajikistan have signed MoUs in fields of political relations, strategic research, agriculture, renewable energy, traditional medicine, space technology, youth affairs, Culture and Disaster Management. The MoU were signed during the on going visit of President of India Ram Nath Kovind to Tajkistan.
In a Statement President said that there is enormous potential for bilateral cooperation and collaboration in the fields of defence, trade and investment, tourism, health and development partnership.
President Ram Nath Kovind today said that India and Tajikistan have agreed to further strengthen their Strategic Partnership. India will also offer a grant of 20 million US Dollar to Tajikistan for development projects. On second day of his visit to the Central Asian Country President Kovind today had a meeting with President of Tajikistan Mr. Emomali Rahmon at Palace of President.

Mr. Kovind said that India and Tajikistan remain determined to counter all forms of terrorism and violent extremism which are a grave threat to international peace and stability. President also thanked Tajikistan for the strong support given by the country for India’s membership to the Shanghai cooperation organization.
On the occasion Mr. President said that India is committed to peace and development in Neighbouring Afghanistan through an Afghan led, Afghan owned and Afghan controlled peace process.
Before the start of the bilateral discussions President was accorded military honours at Palace of Nation in Dushanbe. President Kovind also reviewd Guard of Honour along with President Rahmon.
