To be held in four phases from Oct 8

Jammu Kashmir State Election Commission today announced the dates for municipal bodies’ elections to be held next month.
J&K Chief Electoral Officer Shaleen Kabra announced poll schedule here today.
He said the elections shall be held in four phases on 08, 10, 13 & 16th October this year. The dates for filing nominations and related procedural guidelines were also issued today.
National Conference and PDP have already announced to boycott the upcoming panchayat and municipal polls in the State.
Congress had recently deferred the decision to participate in the Municipal and Panchayat elections. BJP have expressed willingness to participate in the elections and criticized the boycott decision of NC and PDP.
On September 01, State Administrative Council under chairmanship of Governor Satya Pal Malik had decided the schedule for conduct of these polls.
