At least 13 people drowned in separate incidents during Pola festivalin different parts of Maharashtra yesterday. Pola is celebrated in the state to mark gratitude towards the bullock slogging under the yoke. Bullocks are decorated and worshipped.
In Aurangabad District seven persons drowned while bathing their cattle. Three died in Yavatmal district, whereas one each from Nashik, Latur and Hingoli districts drowned during the festival.
