A bishop has apologized for touching singer Ariana Grande’s breast on stage during Aretha Franklin’s funeral. The bishop led the legendary soul singer’s funeral at a church in the US city of Detroit on Friday. Grande was performing some of Franklin’s songs during the ceremony.
Footage shows the bishop putting his arm around the singer and squeezing her toward him with his fingers pressed against the side of her chest.
Many are calling the incident sexual harassment.
The bishop told the Associated Press he would never intentionally touch any woman’s breast and he had hugged all the performers during the funeral. He apologized, adding he may have been too friendly.
Grande hasn’t commented on the matter.
I don’t care what you think about Ariana Grande, her music or her dress. This is wrong. That bishop’s hand should not be on her breast: I just saw this because I’ve been working and not watching https://t.co/ixVhgYBJTN
