Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family visited the Taj Mahal in Agra today. In the visitor’s book, Mr Trudeau termed the visit as wonderful saying that the Taj Mahal is one the most beautiful places in the world.
Mr Trudeau arrived in New Delhi last evening on an eight-day visit to India.
During his stay, the visiting dignitary will visit Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Amritsar. On Friday, he will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
I was about Xav’s age when I first visited the Taj Mahal almost 35 years ago… and it’s amazing to be back with him & the family on Day 1 of our trip to India.
Mr Trudeau’s visit is aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations between India and Canada in key areas of mutual interest including trade and investment, energy, skill development and space.
Cooperation in security and counter-terrorism, as well as the exchange of views on global and regional issues of mutual interest, will also form important components of the visit.
India and Canada share a strategic partnership underpinned by the values of democracy, pluralism, equality for all and rule of law.
