The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is organizing a two day National Conference named Agriculture 2022 – Doubling Farmers’ Income in New Delhi from Monday.
Briefing media on the event, Agriculture Secretary S K Pattanayak said, the conference is being organised with a view to identify various critical issues relating to agriculture and farmers’ welfare and finding appropriate solutions.
He said, the main aim of the conference is to build a consensus around appropriate recommendations that will help in shaping the vision of the Government on Doubling Farmers’ Income by 2022.
Mr Pattanayak said, as many as seven broad themes have been identified for the conference. He said, farmers, farmers’ associations, scientists, economists, academics, trade industry, professional associations, NGOs, policy makers will attend the conference.
Mr Pattanayak said, on the first day, the conference will be attended by Union Agriculture Minister, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Vice Chairman and Member (Agriculture) of NITI Aayog.
He said, on the second day, the groups for each theme will finalise their presentations and recommendations and make their presentations in the final section in the presence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
