Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present the Union Budget in Parliament Thursday. This year’s budget session is crucial as it comes after government’s two very big financial decisions – Demonetization and Goods and Services Tax implementation.
It is also National Democratic Alliance Government’s fifth and last budget presentation before the Lok Sabha polls in 2019. Mr Jaitley will present the Union Budget first in the Lok Sabha and then in the Rajya Sabha.
Meanwhile, Mr Jaitley examined the final draft of the General Budget at North Block this evening in the presence Ministers of State for Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla and Pon Radhakrishnan. Secretaries of the Ministry were also present.
As per the data released by Government and other Agencies in recent past, it is evident that the Private investment has not picked up as per the expectations inspite of the fact that Government did a lot to encourage it through a large number of reforms. Due to this, desired number of jobs has not been created which is a major concern for the government.
