The Election Commission has accepted 4447 nominations of Tamil Nadu, Assembly elections while it has rejected 2706 such papers. The Commission has posted Additional Director General of Police T.K.Rajendran as the Commissioner of Police of Chennai and Additional DGP Law and order now is J.K.Tripathy. The poll body has also transferred five District Collectors.
Political leaders are focusing on local issues during their campaigns. Scorching summer has not hindered whirl wind electioneering through out the State. Voting will take place on 16th of this month for 234 assembly seats in the state.
